School Visits and Community Events

Prior to becoming an author, I was a classroom teacher.
I love visiting classrooms and working with kids!
I welcome the opportunity to visit your school, library, or book group.
I am also available for community events through JCCs, synagogues, etc.

School and Community Event Options

Classroom/Library Author Visit

Small or large group visit primarily for grades 3-6 but additional presentations are available for grades 1-2 and 7-8. The presentation includes an interactive PowerPoint slide show illustrating the writing/publishing process from inspiration to publication. The presentation for grades 1-2 is about 20-30 minutes long. For grades 3-8, the presentation is usually about 45-55 minutes long, followed by a question-and answer session. (This can be shortened to fit your classroom schedule if needed.) In addition, I can read an excerpt from one of my books.

Virtual Author Visit

Thanks to Zoom, I can visit your classroom remotely and share my full presentation for you! We can also meet online for book group chats to discuss the YaYa & YoYo books or writing in general.

Book Group

I love meeting with book groups to discuss YaYa & YoYo. I am happy to facilitate a discussion or simply participate, discuss, and answer questions. It’s a unique experience to read a book and then have the author actually come to your book group and tell you the background secrets that went into creating the book. I’d be happy to come to your group in person or through a virtual meeting online.

Writing Workshop

I love to write and I love sharing my excitement and passion for writing with others. Before I became a professional author, I used to teach writing when I had my own classroom. Today, many of the methods I use are the same as those we used during our writing workshops in class. I would be happy to come to your classroom and help your students with their own writing
